Daikon radish seeds offer a potent, natural source of sulforaphene with clinically relevant bioavailability.
These 100% pure, freeze-dried seeds are produced using advanced preservation technology to retain maximum levels of bioactive compounds. Sulforaphene, a powerful isothiocyanate, is released upon ingestion and supports detoxification, antioxidant activity, and cellular health. With a mild, nutty flavour, the seeds are easily incorporated into patient diets to support nutritional protocols and therapeutic outcomes.
Emerging research highlights sulforaphene as a powerful inducer of the body's intrinsic defence systems. This bioactive compound activates key phase II detoxification enzymes, supporting cellular detoxification and reducing inflammation at a systemic level.
Daikon radish seeds are a rich source of glucoraphanin, the precursor to sulforaphene. Upon ingestion, glucoraphanin is converted into sulforaphene, initiating beneficial detoxification pathways across multiple organ systems. As a healthcare practitioner, incorporating this clinically relevant compound into nutritional protocols may offer targeted support for patients dealing with oxidative stress, toxin exposure or inflammatory conditions.

Sulforaphene is a potent activator of the Nrf2 pathway, an essential regulator of the body's antioxidant and detoxification response. By upregulating Nrf2, sulforaphene stimulates the expression of cytoprotective enzymes, enhancing the body's ability to neutralise reactive oxygen species and facilitate cellular detoxification. This targeted mechanism supports systemic resilience and may offer therapeutic value in managing inflammation and oxidative stress-related conditions.
Sulforaphene (from radish) and sulforaphane (from broccoli) are structurally similar isothiocyanates, both known for their powerful health benefits. However, sulforaphene offers a key advantage: it’s readily activated without the need for additional myrosinase enzymes. Powr Nutrients' freeze-dried daikon radish seed blend preserves high bioactive potency, delivering 8.6mg of sulforaphene in just 0.6g (¼ tsp), as verified by Laboratoires Agrobio. A natural, efficient way to support detoxification and cellular protection.
Powr Nutrients' freeze-dried, blended daikon radish seeds offer a targeted nutritional support for modern lifestyle Diseases, supporting patients with metabolic, cardiovascular, and cellular health related conditions.
REDUCE TOXICITY
Support your patients in defending against daily environmental toxins. This isn’t just about detoxification; it’s about helping the body function at its best.
LOWER INFLAMMATION
By activating Nrf2, sulforaphene helps to lower inflammation throughout the body. And when inflammation is under control, everything works better!

XOLI PROJECT
Xoli, a former UK nurse with a vision that transcends borders. After years of dedicated service in healthcare, she has returned to her roots to sow seeds of change right where it matters most – her home village. Xoli's journey has led her to establish a beacon of hope and health: a vibrant community center nestled at the heart of her village.
At this community hub, tradition meets innovation as we embrace the sustainable practices of the Spur Organic Group. Together, we're cultivating more than just food; we're growing a healthier future for all. We are excited to announce the latest initiative – Community Growers of Daikon Radish.
Kidlinks Small Farm Incubator
Discover the KSFI initiative's remarkable impact on the Eastern Cape! The project emboldens local youth through sustainable farming, fostering fledgling farms and empowering future leaders. Join us in combating youth unemployment, poverty, and hunger, all while instilling lifelong agricultural expertise.
Baviaans Growth Initiative
We are a grassroots organisation deeply embedded in the Baviaanskloof community, dedicated to fostering sustainable development and empowerment. Our vision is to create a vibrant and resilient community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a sustainable future. Recognizing the socio-economic challenges faced by local residents, we prioritise youth focused development as a vital tool for change, communication and support to ensure resilience for an isolated community and skills development and entrepreneurship for a community in search of new economic opportunities.
Our approach emphasises collaboration and partnership with local stakeholders as well as established local entities to enhance our community-focused programs. By addressing critical needs through support services, skills development, and infrastructure improvement, we aim to cultivate a resilient, informed, and thriving community that can foster self-reliance and ultimately build a brighter future for all.
The Human Food Project
The Human Food Project is a community-based vegetable gardening initiative located in the rural Baviaanskloof on Sewefontein. This endeavour is driven by the resilient and hardworking youth of the Sewefontein community, who are dedicated to uplifting themselves and their neighbours through sustainable agriculture.
As a registered agricultural cooperative, the Human Food Project aims to establish a viable vegetable growing business that not only provides nutritious produce for the local market but also contributes to the economic growth and empowerment of the community.
THE POWER OF PLANTS
Our goal at Powr Nutrients was to produce a premium, nutrient-dense health supplement. To do this we started by researching the power of plants. There has been a lot of research into the nutritional benefits of microgreens – so this is where we started.
MICROGREENS
Popular as a garnish in the culinary world, microgreens are not just pretty to look at. They are harvested when the shoots are at their most nutritious, technically speaking, this is just after the cotyledon leaves (the first leaves) develop, between 7-12 days. These tiny leaves have an intensified flavour and are more nutritious than the mature plant. The microgreens are high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Daikon radish microgreens also contain a plant compound called glucoraphenin, which releases a powerful bioactive molecule, sulforaphene, when ingested. This is similar to the widely researched molecule, sulforaphane, released from broccoli and other cruciferous microgreens.
SULFORAPHENE
Through our own extensive research, we discovered that sulforaphene should be the key indicator of how valuable our power nutrient will be. This is because sulforaphene is able to switch on self-defence mechanisms in the body. It does this by activating a biochemical protein in the body called Nrf2. This helps to regulate other antioxidant proteins against free radicals, preventing oxidative damage and further damage to cells, tissues and organs. Sulforaphene has been shown to assist the body in reducing toxins and inflammation, with many benefits.
DAIKON RADISH SEEDS
During our research we realised that the daikon radish seeds contain a much higher concentration of nutrients. This is because seeds are the building blocks of plant life, containing everything needed to support a growing plant. This includes healthy monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats and many important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre. The seeds also contain higher levels of that key plant compound glucoraphenin, which means more sulforaphene is released once eaten.
SULFORAPHENE per ¼ tsp
Microgreens: 2,6 mg
Seeds: 8,6 mg
With a substantially higher yield of sulforaphene, we knew we found our power nutrient. Since then, we haven’t looked back. Using freeze-drying technology, we lock in the goodness of daikon radish seeds to produce our Powr Nutrients Freeze-dried + Blended Daikon Radish Seeds.
