Xoli's Community Center

Xoli, a former UK nurse with a vision that transcends borders. After years of dedicated service in healthcare, she has returned to her roots to sow seeds of change right where it matters most – her home village.

Xoli's journey has led her to establish a beacon of hope and health: a vibrant community center nestled at the heart of her village.

At this community hub, tradition meets innovation as we embrace the sustainable practices of the PSG Spur Organic Group. Together, we're cultivating more than just food; we're growing a healthier future for all. We are excited to announce the latest initiative – Community Growers of Daikon Radish.

Why daikon radish? This humble root vegetable is not only nutritious but also remarkably versatile and easy to grow, making it ideal for a community agriculture project. The aim is two-fold: provide nutritional value to the local diets and empower villagers with the knowledge and skills for sustainable farming.

But that's not all. The world of agriculture holds many wonders, including the nutrient-packed powerhouses known as microgreens. The program is also dedicated to teaching the art and science of growing these tiny yet mighty plants.

KSFI Project

In South Africa, it is also important to support your local community. We have teamed up with the incredible KSFI project (Kidlinks Small Farm Incubator) in our area. This project aims to uplift rural communities and teach the youth in the Eastern Cape about regenerative farming. This empowers them to start up their own small holdings and show them that becoming profitable farmers and leaders in their community is possible. Not only does this give the individual person skills for their future, but helps to address social challenges of youth unemployment, poverty and food insecurity.

Empowering Young Minds Through Chess: Clive Delbridge's Vision

At Powrnutrients, we believe in the power of giving back to the community. Our founding director, Clive Delbridge, has always been passionate about making a difference. As a former provincial-level chess player during his school years, Clive understands the value of strategic thinking and discipline that chess instills in young minds.

Driven by this passion, Clive has established three thriving chess clubs in rural East London: Dyam Dyam, Fort Grey, and most recently, the All Stars from Necera Village 6. These clubs have become safe havens and learning hubs for close to 200 children, offering them not only a chance to learn chess but also to develop critical life skills.

The impact of this initiative has been profound. Several participants have gone on to earn provincial colors, and one exceptional talent has even represented the nation. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of Clive and the potential that lies within every child when given the right opportunities.
