SOURCED AND GROWN

To keep up with demand, we both grow and source our seeds. The seeds we grow on our farm are organic and non-GMO. The seeds we source are the highest quality, non-GMO, open-pollinated seeds from trusted suppliers.

 The seeds we grow are planted all year round in high quality compost and mulch that we make on the farm. Our beds are raised to maximise the yields. As we are an organic farm, we carefully monitor the plants daily to keep an eye on any pests. We also fertilize the plants weekly with homemade, organic vermicompost tea – making sure our plants get the best nutrients to grow the best seeds! Once the plants have gone to seed and the pods have ripened and dried, that’s when harvesting begins. Our seed pods are threshed and winnowed to separate the seeds from the pods.

LOCK IN THAT GOODNESS

The seeds (both grown and sourced) are then washed and sorted. This is when we lock in all those nutrients, using a process called freeze-drying. This process preserves the seeds without using heat, which can damage key nutrients. Instead, it removes the moisture without damaging it, retaining up to 97 % of vitamins, minerals and other plant compounds. This is why we are able to package such nutritious seeds, without the need for any additives or preservatives.
